Pacific American School, a K-12 college preparatory American school in Hsinchu, Taiwan, invites applications for the positions available in 2023-2025.

• Secondary School English Language Arts/Literature Instructors — certified teacher with a master’s degree or above, has at least 2 years of secondary school teaching experience in ESL/ English Literature/ Writing, can apply project-based instruction to develop critical thinking and writing skills. Applicants with AP English instruction, AP exams, and ESL experience are preferred. Knowledge and experience with SAT Reasoning Test is also favored.
• Elementary Tech Instructor ––has a bachelor’s degree or above with at least 2 years of experience in teaching. Has experience with Grade 3, 4, and 5 technology. Good at Elementary codings, such as Scratch, Blockly, JavaScript, and experience working with mBot, Flipbot, Arduino, Lego Mindstorm, etc. A pleasant personality, patience, and tolerance are a must. Background in child development research and learning pedagogy is favored.
• Elementary Science Instructor ––has a bachelor’s degree or above with at least 2 years of experience in teaching and certification in elementary science class/lab classes. Has experience with Grade 3, 4, and 5 Science. A pleasant personality, patience, and tolerance are a must. Background in child development research and learning pedagogy is favored.

Desired qualifications for Instructional Positions include:

• National/State Certification (not ESL certification exclusively)
• Has an advanced degree is a plus to elementary school teachers but a requirement for secondary school teachers.
• Has at least 2 years of teaching experience at a school/international school with an American curriculum
• Has experience in project-based learning (PBL) integrated instruction
• Has implemented technology instruction and G-Suite applications
• Has worked with an American curriculum, standards and benchmarks, and develop unit plans
• High level of English proficiency required
• Has other extracurricular specialty and is able to help with school clubs/ after-school activities
• Has the ability to collaborate with others in professional development and accreditation processes
• Is positive, enthusiastic, flexible
