Qualcomm unveils the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, promising 35% faster CPU performance, improved power efficiency, Wi-Fi 7 support, and up to 4.35x faster AI performance  —  Qualcomm has announced all the details of its next flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with a focus on better and more efficient performance for AI-related tasks.

Microsoft reports Q1 Windows OEM revenue down 15% YoY, devices revenue up 2% YoY, Xbox hardware revenue up 13%, and Xbox content and services revenue down 3%  —  It’s a new financial year for Microsoft, and the Windows and Xbox maker has just posted the first quarter of its 2023 financial results today.

Razer unveils Edge, its gaming handheld with Android 12, a 6.8″ 144Hz screen, and Qualcomm’s G3x Gen 1 chipset, available for $400 in January 2023 with Wi-Fi 6E  —  Razer is finally showing off the Edge, its portable Android gaming handheld.  Good news: it looks a lot better than the last time we saw it in December 2021.

Microsoft says Xbox Game Pass is profitable and accounts for ~15% of Xbox content and services revenue, after revealing PC Game Pass subscriptions rose 159% YoY  —  Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer has revealed that the company’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service is already profitable.
